Safe Kids Day 2024
The AEG Oakland Community Foundation collaborated with the Alameda County Emergency Medical Services Agency to host Safe Kids Day on July 13th at the Oakland Arena and Oakland-Alameda County Coliseum complex. This annual event offered vital safety resources to more than 1,000 families in Alameda County. Attendees were provided with diapers, over 300 booster seats, and 400 bicycle helmets. Additionally, they had the opportunity to engage with nearly 50 community vendors and non-profits, all of whom offered interactive health education and injury prevention activities to all participants.
The Health and Wellness Fair provided resources such as:
- Heat Stroke Activation where families were educated on how dangerous it can be to leave children and pets in warm vehicles
- Emergency preparedness tips
- A fun zone that included face painting and bounce houses
- Bicycle helmet fitting and a decorating station for children
- CHP Oakland, Oakland Fire and EMS educated families and children about the importance of safety
Thank you to our dedicated community partners and sponsors whose invaluable support made the 2024 Safe Kids Day event a resounding success.
